How This Whole Thing Started
Look, I won't feed you some perfect origin story. Truth is, I burned out hard working in corporate wellness programs - you know, the kind where companies check a box and call it "caring about employee health."
After my third panic attack in a gym bathroom (glamorous, right?), I realized something had to change. Not just for me, but for everyone who felt like fitness was this all-or-nothing, no-pain-no-gain nightmare.
So in 2018, I cashed in my RRSP (don't tell my financial advisor), got my coaching certs sorted, and started training people in parks around Vancouver. My approach? Actually listen to what people needed instead of pushing cookie-cutter programs.

What We're Actually About
Here's the thing - we're not trying to turn everyone into athletes. Some of our members just wanna move without hurting, sleep better, or have enough energy to play with their kids. Others are training for marathons or competitive sports. Both are totally valid.
What ties it all together? We believe your body and mind aren't separate things. You can't just hammer yourself into submission and expect to feel good. Real strength comes when you're working WITH your body, not against it.
No Judgment Zone (For Real)
We've all been beginners. Hell, we're still learning new stuff every day. Everyone starts somewhere and progresses at their own pace.
Community Over Competition
Sure, we celebrate PRs and achievements, but we're more stoked when someone finally nails that movement they've been working on for weeks.
Progress, Not Perfection
Life happens. Missed a week? No biggie. Form wasn't perfect? We'll work on it. It's about showing up when you can and doing what works for YOU.
Education Matters
We'll teach you WHY we're doing stuff, not just WHAT to do. Understanding your body means you can make better choices outside the gym too.
What Keeps Us Going
Every morning when I unlock the doors, I think about the person who's gonna walk in nervous about their first class. Or the member who's been with us since day one and still gets excited about training. That's the stuff that matters.
We're not perfect. Sometimes equipment breaks, classes get too full, or we mess up scheduling. But we own our mistakes, learn from them, and keep trying to do better by our community.
